When I first founded this conference in 2007, I choose the theme, Power of the Purse, because I knew I wanted to create an event where we could celebrate, as women ,our earning power, purchasing power and giving power. As the conferences grew, they remained dedicated to building community and encouraging leadership. Presenting a speaker roster of highly successful and accomplished women, we promoted personal and professional development. Together our audience examined what may be holding them back from embracing challenges and change. Through inspiring stories, shared experiences, and humour, we ensured our attendees left from the day feeling inspired, motivated and celebrated!

Our popular, and always sold out, Marketplace has always been a fun and dynamic opportunity for women entrepreneurs to present their products and services to you – everyone loved to visit each booth and support these women – ‘cause a little bit of shopping never hurt!

At each conference we would lend a voice to a local non profit organization, to learn more about their programs and services. We also supported them with some fun and affordable ‘power fundraising’ during our lunch break that day!

I am honoured that over the past 13 years so many of you have invested in yourselves and attended. I have always encouraged our attendees to make the most of the day; reach out, connect, shake hands, hug, laugh, cry, but most of all, take the time to celebrate you – and all your awesomeness!  That’s how you can find that power in your purse.

As we experience a world changed by the Covid 19 pandemic, the landscape for in- person large conferences has changed.  The uncertainty of what will and will not be allowed with public gatherings has meant postponing our conference plans for now.

We all miss our conferences, and because we took so much with us from these days; the motivation, the inspiration and the celebration, I knew that these were just too good to wait for.  So I’m excited to share with you that we have created a new way to keep us all connected.
