Welcome to your community! This mentorship program is the beginning of a lifelong sisterhood. Our Mentees, Mentors and expert Hosts will share their stories and learn from one another.

  • Hosts will bring their expertise, knowledge and the skills which have guided them through their incredibly accomplished lives.
  • Mentors will bring their lifetime of experience, both the challenges and the victories.
  • Mentees will take a monumental step forward in their personal and professional lives, with the support of the women who have walked, and driven, the same path before them.

LeadHERtrucking is a 10 month female mentorship program that will launch in September 2021, with new groups starting every other month.

This mentorship program is comprised of monthly virtual one-on-one meetings between Matches, as well as a monthly virtual session covering a carefully selected list of topics. These sessions will be facilitated by women who are experts in their fields, participating as LeadHERHosts.

The Participants:
Mentors: Seasoned women drivers with diverse experience will lend their time and expertise to their Mentee.
Mentees
: New women drivers, who have been driving for 6 months or less, seeking professional development and personal growth.

  • The Structure

    • Each program team (pod) has up to a maximum of 30 participants, comprised of up to 15 Matches, which are a Mentor and a Mentee. 
    • Each Match will meet (virtually) on a regular predetermined schedule (usually once per month), and following the presentation, will have a monthly topic provided for discussion. 
    • Virtual presentations are offered monthly, based on course content. As well, there are additional resources provided for more in-depth learning and discussion.
    • The goal of the content for LeadHERtrucking is to give the Mentor-Mentee Matches substantive content that will connect you with someone who wants to support you, and have helpful discussions about the good and challenging stages of professional driving.
  • Application Process

    • Mentees will be required to submit an application for a place in this program. Once accepted, she will complete a questionnaire to help us to make the best possible Match between mentee and mentor.
    • Mentors will be recruited based on their experience, passion and commitment to the benefit of mentoring and empowering entry level professional female truck drivers. Each will complete a Mentor Profile to ensure we make the best possible match.
    • As soon as they are matched at the beginning, both Mentor and Mentee will sign an understanding of engagement outlining the roles and responsibilities of each participant.

I am confident that a one-to-one mentorship program can have an outsized effect: women who are mentees will continue to apply what they have learned across their careers, creating a global Impact over time. 


Let’s continue this momentum, and as women let’s mentor and lift up other women, helping them to grow, excel and advance more effectively. Mentorship can also, when done right, create an invaluable close-knit network for women, across all ages and industries.

We’ve all had people in our lives who provide guidance, wisdom and encouragement. Whether that person was your friend, parent or mentor, we need individuals who will guide us through the difficult times in life.
You can be that person. Consider becoming a mentor through the LeadHERtrucking initiative. You can make a difference in the life of someone who wants to learn from you. You can help them through challenges and opportunities. The Women In Trucking Association mission includes the goal to address obstacles and celebrate success. You can advance this mission by being a mentor.
Women in the trucking industry are still in the minority and we are working hard to change that. We need to lift others up and help them by sharing our insight.
President John F. Kennedy once said in a speech, “A rising tide lifts all boats.” In our case, a higher level of wisdom in the trucking industry will elevate all of us, and we ask you to be a part of this upward movement.
